St. Clair College to host High School Rocket League Provincial Championship

St. Clair College has been selected to host the Ontario School Esports Association (OSEA) Provincial Rocket League High School Championship on May 11.

The championship finals will be held in St. Clair Esports Nexus, home of the Saints Varsity Esports teams, in Windsor, Ontario. It will mark the second year that St. Clair has hosted the event.

"We are extremely excited to be returning to the Nexus to host our annual Provincial Rocket League Championship,” said Daniel Rolo, OSEA co-founder. “This event will bring together middle school and high school students from across Ontario in a fun day of competition to determine the best esports teams in the province. We are super grateful for the leadership that the St. Clair Saints Esports Program has to offer in hosting this event, and we look forward to many more in the future."

More than 600 students across 84 schools participated in OSEA events last year with representation from 41 school districts, including public, Catholic, French, and private boards.

The Spring season launched March 27 and runs for six weeks, culminating with the in-person finals at St. Clair College on May 11.

“We’re excited to welcome back OSEA to St. Clair College for a second year,” said St. Clair College Esports Director Shaun Byrne. “OSEA has been outstanding with the development of scholastic esports in the province. We are proud to continue supporting their efforts and providing an in-person competitive experience for their high school esports teams.”

Launched in 2022, OSEA has grown rapidly with representation from more than 50% of all school boards in Ontario. OSEA provides support to schools and teachers getting started in scholastic esports, all for free. This year, OSEA has leagues and tournaments in Rocket League, League of Legends, Minecraft, VALORANT, Fortnite, and Smash Bros.

The OSEA Provincial High School Rocket League Championships will be streamed live on twitch.tv/saintsgamingca and at www.osea.gg/live.
